Kniddelen is a traditional luxembourgish recipe which is a satisfying meal altogether. Learn how to DIY with simple ingredients in this workshop.
Kniddelen are vegetarian and can be refined using bacon. This is not a vegan meal
Recipe (5 persons)
- 500gr flour
- 5 eggs (M)
- 250ml milk (or water)
Bring a large pot with water to boil. Add a bit of salt and keep boiling. In the meantime, mix all ingredients together and add milk stepwise until dough is a still bit "fluid".
Use two spoons to create "Kniddelen" and add them to the boiling water. When cooking, Kniddelen will pop up to the surface. From that moment on, keep them cooking for 3-4 minutes.
- (White/Fat) Bacon
Put a pan on fire (not too high) and fry the bacon for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the heat and add some butter which will melt into the bacon. Use this to pour over Kniddelen when serving. Muskatnuss.
Mushroom cream sauce
- mushrooms (to your liking)
- cream / sour cream
Heat up a pan and cook the onion until transparent. Add sliced mushrooms, cook for a few minutes. Add salt/pepper to your liking. Turn down heat and add a spoon of sour cream, mix, refine with cream if necessary.
