First of all, let's talk about negativity bias a bit. Please make sure to post a fair balance between positive and negative feedback. Feedback about what went wrong is important, but feedback about what went right is even more important. Do share your negativity, but please be kind and remember we're a bunch of volunteers. For environmental/cost reasons, I kinda wish I could have opted out. * Really love the badge, it inspired me to try micropython for the first time. Also I find it to be a piece of art, the PCB design is just great. On the other side, I'm also sceptical on the ecological aspects. I fear that many hackers will not use it anymore after the event or even never use it at all. * Agree with above: low capacity for the commercial food stands. They also didn't seem to grasp the concept of 'lunch'. * The Johny Cash Burger was great but mostly I fed on waffles by the awesome C3WOC <3. And of course one can rely on the Italian Hackers' Embassy for excellent pasta. * This is a matter of taste - if you light up the speakers real well, the audience can enjoy a well lighted speaker. But the speaker then often can't see the audience. The blog post and wiki page were pretty long and still left me confused about what the actual payment system on the field was going to end up being. * I liked the idea of the cashless QR-code, especially the later upgrade to a "hard card" rather than just a stub of thermal paper. Avoids using the big payment providers and frees one of having to carry around cash. * As a foreigner visiting, I was VERY happy that I could use my card to tap and pay almost everywhere. Get the supermarket on board next time and you get a perfect score from me! * Silent lounge was very well done. Nicely decorated and people behaving very considerate (i.e. really tried to be silent). No wonder that it was popular to the point where it could've used more pillows. I was worried that people would start camping inside the lounge (similar things happen at congress for example), but that didn't turn out to be true. I've seen plenty of people taking a nap away from the noise of the event, but thankfully nobody started living inside the lounge. -- [[User:Rot13|Rot13]] ([[User talk:Rot13|talk]])
* Besides the silent lounge, I wish there were more places for people, especially for those without a village, to relax in the shade near an Ethernet port and power socket. In the harbour there was the wood table with tent roof and the bar with a couple of seats, but both away from power sockets. Besides that a few deckchairs. ** +1 I was going to write the same. Seating on the western part of the food court was hardly used because there was no shadow. Everyone was cramped beneath the roof tent in front of the east bar. On previous events there were more public spaces with roofing, sofas, bean bags, power and network. Nice place with hammocks at the speaker desk but also now shadow. Roof tents would also provide shelter in case of rain (as experienced on previous camps).

* The designs look great, I'm a fan of the asymmetry and the patterned sleeves. Not being able to go a size up or down from what you ordered online was kind of disappointing. Not a major issue for myself but I know of several people who were sad about this. * Bit torn on this one. It is a party event, but there was way too much loud music post 2 AM. Some of us do need sleep. * The Retro Arcade area was an absolute nuisance at night. They were blasting the neighbouring villages with shitty music and drunken yelling until 2 or 3 am pretty much every day. * It seems like while the official policy was 'no noise after 1AM', it wasn't actively enforced for most cases - and I think that enabled people to also treat it a bit more like a hint rather than a rule? Perhaps for future events we should have numerical 'loudness' scores for all fields, forming a gradient, with a higher score letting people be louder and party later, and actually enforce that. That way loud people can camp in loud villages, while those who need peace and quiet can camp in quiet villages. -- [[User:Q3k|Q3k]] ([[User talk:Q3k|talk]])

* This was both badly communicated (FAQ said "until midnight", apparently the actual rule was from 1 am?) and not usefully enforced. Arcade area right next to family village especially apparently could do whatever they wanted. ** Delivering anything of real value sounds like a bad idea (on big events). Besides being way more effort than postcards, parcels (pending delivery) would require (secure-ish) storage space while not out for relivery or if the first delivery attempt failed. We'd also need extra couriers and not hand deliveries out to random passing-by hackers, which also leaks the info on the parcel (such as tracking numbers) to said random hackers. Be reminded that both internet access and the local network are unfirewalled and unfiltered. Even well-maintained systems can be attacked and get hacked, even more so at a hacker event.
* Do not run your own DHCP server! Doing so is harmful.
* Do not send IPv6 Router Advertisements.
* Do not ARP spoof or otherwise impede the operation of the network!
* While we are generally quite able to find and disconnect you in case of network misuse if necessary, we still prefer to not have to do so and that everybody respects the other visitors.
* Think twice before you do something that affects others! If you hack someone, you might be prosecuted. Be aware that we cannot prevent law enforcement from acting within or related to our network.👮🚨🚔

== Wired ==

There will be wired 100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T/10GBASE-T ethernet on the camping grounds and in the caravan area by means of so-called "Data Toilets" or "Datenklos". Look for construction toilets with tin foil wrapped around them.

You can lay your own cables, but please do so in a tidy manner. You must not cross any roads, paths or borders between camping grounds. Always lay your cable from the Datenklo towards your tent to keep any slack close to your tent. Leave 5m of slack cable at the Datenklo. You can simply leave the end of your cable at the Datenklo, it will be connected by helpers at regular intervals (during reasonable work hours). If you want your cable back, make a proper spool of it and leave that at the Datenklo or mark it accordingly. It will be disconnected for you to pick up.

The maximum line-of-sight distance to the next Datenklo will be approximately 50 meters. Cables will not be provided. A length of 50 meters is recommended. If that is insufficient, you will find someone within this range who has a switch and can plug you in. But bringing 60 or 75 meters won't hurt if you want to be sure. Do not bring SFTP or other shielded cables, this can cause harm you your and our equipment, we will not connect them (this is to prevent ground loops).

Optionally, bring & connect a small ethernet switch when connecting multiple devices. Please disable Spanning-Tree Protocol if you would connect a managed switch.

You can use any username/password combination using EAP-TTLS with PAP to login (example: "user: fbhfbhiaf pass: bgufwbnkqo" is valid), because we don't care who logs in and who you are. We just want to encrypt your data.

Users which use MSCHAPv2 (like Windows users with default 802.1X supplicant) should use a fixed username and password. You can use "mch/mch" or "guest/guest" as "username/password".

* We're aware you can break the WiFi infrastructure. We're hoping that you won't and don't want to be chased by 3500 hackers through the Camp.
* If you want to download terabytes of data, you might be better off connecting to the wired network
* Don't set up your own accesspoint. However, if you have no other choice (for running experiments and such), please be nice and consider these rules:
** Please do not operate non-WiFi/analog equipment in these frequencies.
** 2.4GHz: use channels 1, 5, 9 or 13 @ 20MHz. Disable 802.11b.
** 5GHz: use channels 36 or 140 @ 20MHz.
** Minimum data-rate = 12Mbit/s, also for beacon-rate. Beacon interval 100ms or higher.
** Limit the number of broadcasted BSSID's per radio to 1 or 2. No SSID spamming etc is allowed.
** Do not prefix your broadcasted ESSID(s) with "MCH". Do not use "MCH2022" as your ESSID. Do not use other well-known ESSIDs.
** Do not use high-gain antennas.
** Limit your transmit-power for example to 6dBm or 4mW.

** Boats : Yes we can use the docks, they are not exlusive, other people can use it as well but you are welcome to come by boat and dock there for the night.

** Power : Yes we can use the field cabinets, but have to bring our own power distribution.
** Campfire : Yes !! Bring some Firewood if you have some spare at home so we dont have to buy it from the scouting.

== Facilities and organizing ==
Always more tents are welcome

* Terrain / On terrain facilities (netsmurf)
** exact spot on the terrain the fields : Adhingerdorp, Tollebeek, Espeloo en Bante. See map.
** Terrain booked : yes booked !
** Boats : Yes we can use the docks, they are not exlusive, other people can use it as well but you are welcome to come by boat and dock there for the night.
** Sanitair : Unit Torum
** Power : Yes we can use the field cabinets, but have to bring our own power distribution.
** Campfire : Yes !! Bring some Firewood if you have some spare at home so we dont have to buy it from the scouting.

* BBQ (Rizoom):
** DONE: Ordered BBQ for 80people, caterer sending cooks

* Tents (Stitch):
** 3 * 16x6 army tent - Good for 100 people with 1.5 meter social distancing.

== Who ==
Sign up by adding your name to this list. Please specify if you stay the night and if there are important dietary requirements. The maximum number of participants for the BBQ is 80, closing date for signing up was monday the 17th. But we left some spare spots, so you might be in luck.

If you did not sign up for the BBQ, you are still very much welcome to come (we hope you do!), just make sure you bring some ready-to-eat food. :) The caterer is sending a cook who will be working according to hygiene standards, please don't ask the cook to prepare food you brought from home (unless it's because of dietary restrictions).
