Pizza day! What is a hacker camp without a good pizza ? And the best pizza is one you make yourself.

In this workshop a team of kid and a parent will make pizza together. Making the dough from scratch, making the pizza, baking it, and finally devouring it.

This is very hands-on workshop. Come with clean hands and get them dirty while kneeding the dough.

We have capacity for 50 pizzas, 25 teams of kid & parent. You will work together with other kids/parents on the dough.

Generic timeline:

10:00 Dough preparation . This will take about one hour

17:00 Pizza time! We will prepare the toppings, make the pizza, bake it and eat it. This will take 1-2 hours.

We provide several toppings: mozzarella, salami and italian herbs. If you'd like to add extra toppings to your pizza, please bring them with you.

So depending on the amount of participants, there might be some patience involved to get everyone's pizza baked. We probably need some weighted fair queuing mechanism to let the kids eat first. Like on earlier hacker events, the Chaosvermittlung is set out to provide a power independent and low-tech phone network.

As some of you might be wondering what the hell is a field phone and why do I want to have one if I already have a SIP/DECT phone. Let us explain a bit more about how these fieldphones work:
* Field phones are battery powered telephones without a dialing pad connected to a central manual phone exchange.
* To start your call you have to turn a crank on the side of the phone.
* An operator will be alerted, answer your call and you can tell him/her which field phone or DECT/SIP number you want to reach.

Now as you know what field phones are you may still be asking yourself: "why do I want to have such a device for my OC or village".
As mentioned above the field phones are battery powered and since power cuts can happen, a power independent communication channel is nice to have. Also, because field phones run on their own copper network, their service is not dependant on IP connectivity.

= Fields =
MCH2022 takes place on the beautiful terrain next to the Nuldernauw. This terrain is divided into [[fields]]. All fields are named after people who are memorable, who were pioneers in their area, be it computing, cryptography, medical innovation, aviation, space technology, internet privacy... or even heroes of some kind. They are arranged in alphabetical order, starting at the northern side of the field, and going down to the southern side. So if a friend tells you they are at Wozniak field, and you're presently at Clarke field, you already know that you'll have to cross pretty much the entire terrain to meet them, and it would be wise to grab a bottle of mate for the trip. However, if they are at Babbage field, it's worth sticking your arms up and waving: they may be able to see you. 
When you try to find a place for your tent, keep the sound in mind. As sound travels well over water, it is desirable to keep loud noise on the dry side of the dyke. Also, a lot of the babies will sleep in the Family Zone. Noise can be made untill midnight. But after midnight, please keep it down to let people and the neighbours enjoy their sleep.

== Power on the fields ==
For safety reasons read [[Facilities#Power|this first]], before connecting your equipment. The distibution cabinets on the fields can be used to power your stuff. They are placed about 25 meters apart. Be kind and share your power with your neighbours. Keep things dry! Use SCHUKO plugs, we don't facilitate the BLUE 16A CEE plugs! There are some 400V/32A 5pol. sockets too for villages and bigger projects. Consult [mailto:power@mch2022.org team power] if you need to use one of those for big stuff like pizza ovens. You cannot use full power everywhere. Try to cook on gas instead of electricity.

== Arrival ==
Since we can't allow to many cars on the field during buildup, we built a tool to help visitors to distribute their arrival over time. By setting the 'Buildup-Timeslot' value on your User-Page on the wiki you can indicate when you want to arrive and enter the field with a vehicle. Please also register in the angel system if you want to arive during (early) buildup.
That data is then aggregated and shown on the [[Camping/Buildup]] page.

= Bring your own tent =

==Small Tents==
The most obvious way to provide a sleeping space it bring your own tent and camp on the field. There are no requirements for small tents. Small tents provide sleeping space for a maximum of 5 persons, and include small pavilions.

== Large tents ==
Especially when you're bringing a large tent, check out these [[Team:Fire#Legislation|safety requirements]].
Large tents need to be pre-registered for safety reasons (fire-safety, escape-routes, ...). They also need to be fire-retardant according to NEN 6065 class II norm (equivalent DIN 4102-B1).
Big tents include for example:
* Hacktents
* Kitchen tents
* Lounge tents
* Sleeping tents for more than 5 persons.

It will also need emergency lights, and a fire extinguisher if one of the following is true:
* Tent is larger than 60m²
* Peak usage is > 50 people (think of a party)
* Normal user is > 30 people (daily usage: hacking, cooking, ...)
POWDER extinguishers are NOT allowed because of the potential collateral damage to electronic equipment.

= Campers, Cars and special Vehicles =
Because the terrain is quite squidgy, scouting doesn't like any vehicles on the grass. That leaves only a few small areas that can be used for vehicles and therefore the number of vehicles allowed on the fields during the event is limited.

== KarTents ==
A [https://kartent.com/info/ KarTent] is a tent you can order from the MCH ticket shop. They are made from water resistant cardboard. These tents are one time use only, and after the event all the tents will be recycled. This is a good alternative to buying a tent if you dodn't have one or to save room when travelling. You can collect your KarTent on the terrain from day 0, and place it at your village or any other available camping area. When picking up you KarTent, you can also rent an air matress and sleeping bag.

Unfortunately the camp is not a very animal-friendly area, and we have to adhere to the rules set by the owners of the field. This means dogs and other pets, with the obvious exception of certified service animals, are not allowed on the field. Stuffed animals are ok. There might be some mosquitos on the terrain already, be prepared for this.

== Public transportation ==

Arriving by public transport when the shuttle doesn't run

The Netherlands is known for having very good public transport services. This is mostly true, but the MCH2022 terrain happens to be in a blind spot.

Trains are perfectly fine. But the nearest train station (Nijkerk) is 11 km by foot. So you would want to take a bus. Only, bus services around here are very low-frequent. That's why we're planning to operate a shuttle service from Station Nijkerk.

The field itself is hard to reach by public transportation, so a [[Shuttle service|shuttle service will run from and to Nijkerk Centraal station]].

Schiphol has a good train connection with the rest of the Netherlands. There's a train station directly below the main hall. Plan your journey [https://www.ns.nl/en/journeyplanner/#/?vertrek=Schiphol%20Airport&aankomst=Nijkerk to Nijkerk on NS.nl] and use the shuttle service for the last leg.

=== From abroad ===
Plan your trip to Nijkerk. There are ways to get to the campsite from abroad. [http://www.goeuro.com/ goeuro is an international] public transportation planner that can help you.

=== Train + bicycle ===

It's possible to take your bike in the train, get to Nijkerk, and cycle [https://en.mapy.cz/s/mahocugova the last 11 km of the journey]. This is definitely more flexible, probably faster, and possibly cheaper than taking the bus. And it comes with the added benefit of having personal transport during the event.

You can bring a folding bicycle with you for free in all Dutch trains and many international trains too. If you want to take a regular (non-folding) bike, you'll need a [https://www.ns.nl/producten/en/onbeperkt-reizen/p/fietskaart-dal seperate ticket (€7,50)] for that and travel outside peak hours (not between 6:30-9:00 and 16:00-18:30).

=== By bus ===
If all fails or you want to arrive before the shuttle service runs or at hacker-incompatible times such as 7 AM, you may want to consider carpooling from Nijkerk or bringing a bicycle. If you really want to use public transit for the entire journey, then there are public bus services.

There's a bus stop (Nulderpad) ~2 km away from the field. [https://en.mapy.cz/s/galatuteba Be prepared to walk with all your luggage.] There are two bus lines stopping there, line 142 and line 160. Both of them have their limitations.

==== Line 142 ====

Line 142 rides from Nijkerk via Zeewolde to Harderwijk. It runs on Monday-Fridays between 06:57 and 18:57 every hour, with extra trips at 7:27, 15:27 and 16:27. It will take ~12 minutes.

This bus doesn't ride at all during weekends, or after 19:00. Don't get yourself stranded in Nijkerk and plan carefully. Don't plan for the 18:57 ride, keep it as a backup.

==== Line 160 ====

If you want to arrive later than 19:00 or during the weekend, then you'll want to use line 160. This route sucks, but it's better than nothing.

Line 160 rides from Almere to Zeewolde. It runs the same schedule every day including weekends. But it runs on a very low frequency of less than once per 2 hours. It departs from Almere Centrum at 9:00, 11:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00 and 22:00 and takes 44 minutes to get to Nulderpad.

[https://www.ns.nl/en/journeyplanner/#/?aankomst=Almere+Centrum Plan your train journey to Almere Centrum.] Don't get yourself stranded in Almere and plan very carefully. Consider taking an early train. Better to wait 30 minutes, then to wait 2 or 3 hours because your train got delayed.

tl;dr it's complicated

You cannot pay with cash in public transport (with a few exceptions). Most regular users of dutch public transport will use an OV-Chipkaart (Public Transport Chip Card. This card costs €7.50, so it's a terrible deal if you're only using it for a single trip.

If you're planning to only use the train, you can buy an e-ticket online on NS.nl. They accept iDeal and most credit cards online. You can also buy a train ticket in the NS vending machines on the train stations but those are €1 more expensive.

If you're planning to also take the bus, and you're not dutch, then you might be in a bit of a pickle. It looks like the bus operator doesn't sell affordable e-tickets on their website. They do sell day tickets for a whopping €12. For context: the regular (ov-chipkaart) fare is €2.89. You can also pay at the driver with debit or credit card, but it seems like they charge €7.35 via this method.

If you still want to get an OV-Chipkaart for €7.50, then you can get one at [https://www.ns.nl/en/travel-information/traveling-with-the-ov-chipkaart/ns-ticket-machines.html ''some'' NS vending machines] at all train stations. You can pay with debit or credit card or with coins (no notes, only coins).

Please park in the field designated by the signs. If you don't have a parking ticket, look for the angel with the scanner who may sell you one.

Then, please proceed to the entrance tent.

If you have a camper ticket follow the signs marked 'Camper'. You will be directed to temporary parking by the road. From there, you will make a short walk towards the Main Entrance. After verifying your ticket you will get the option to choose one of the camper locations, camper spots are first to come first serve.

You'll find the ticket tent near the gate. Please queue up if there is a line and one of our team will scan your ticket, get you set up with your wrist band, and welcome you to the event.

== Special Case: Minors ==

There are some requirements around identification and alcohol laws. If any single member of our team thinks you ''might'' be under 25 they will ask you for ID showing your birth date is after the 6th of August, 2002. If you do not oblige, or do not have ID, you will be assigned a minors wristband.

There is a limited list of valid proofs of identification for this purpose in the Netherlands:

* Passport
* EER ID card (including dutch ID card)

Then your camper neighbour could plug-in via that connection.

Please bring IP44 rated power strips ( [https://www.dewitschijndel.nl/shi-5-voudige-stekkerdoos/ e.g. this one ] to make sure you and your neighbours can get connected. Make sure it is rated for 16A (or even more, 2.5 mm2 cable would be perfect)

Always ask permission and check for the most optimal daisy chaining. Best is to use the power strip near the distribution box, to limit the amount of current through the longer runs towards the vehicle.

There is no camper-van service point. tbd if we can use toilets to dump black water. Don't use standard water points to clean out your black water tank , to avoid contamination.

== Waste ==

Dispose your waste in the provided trash bins. Don't leave waste/anything when you leave.
== Nearby camper service point ==

There are some mixed reviews on the availability of grey water dumping. But fresh water and black water disposal is available. Do note that we are limited by the fact that we are an outdoor camping event, so for example we cannot give hard guarantees about the availability of reliable power on the field for medical devices. Nonetheless, we always try to do our best!

Please note that during build up kids <12 are not allowed on the terrain. Older kids (12+) can help but have to be under adult supervision and wear a hi-vis vest AT ALL TIMES when outside their own tent. Even during non-working hours. If they don't help with build up, they have to be in the designated safe area.

There is! But if you haven't pre-paid your MCH2022 merchandise, it is probably sold out. You can always try your luck at the last day, to see what is left. The Angel shirts are for those who've helped 3 days with build-up, or did 20 hours of shifts registered in the Angel system, or are part of the Orga.

We will follow the COVID measures and guidelines issued by the Dutch government at all times. During the event we will provide extra ventilation for the big tents, have places to wash your hands and if you want to wear a mask, this is encouraged, especially indoors. We love to have some help! You can help in several ways, both before and during MCH2022. Leading up to the event, you can help with the Orga. KarTents are portable, so you can move it to your preferred camping spot, for example in your village. On the last day of MCH2022 they will be collected for recycling. If you ordered a sleeping bag and air matress, these will be rental and need to be returned.

Mind (y)our neighbors! We like to keep it quiet from 24:00 till 8 am. So after midnight loud noise/music is not allowed. If you want to make noise... start earlier.

To make sure our youngest guests get enough sleep, the camping around the FamilyZone has to be quiet from 21:00.

=== What is the photo/video policy for MCH2022? ===
The decent thing to do is ask before you take a picture or video. Not everyone wants to have their photo taken, and some might especially dislike finding themselves on the internet. Crowd shots are fine, as are pictures where people are unrecognisable. Also no live streaming as you walk around the event. Some areas and villages will be picture-free zones, make sure to follow the local guidelines.

Regular event waste (trashbags) can be disposed of in one of the many bins around the fields. For larger items (not household trash): Please take home everything you bring to MCH2022. If you really want to get rid of bulk waste (grofvuil), like for instance a sofa, it might be possible to rent a bulk container for you. This will be very expensive, and needs to be paid up front. ===Are open fires allowed (bonfire, barbecue, ...)?===
No, unfortunately not because of safety reasons. Open fire is anything that is not gas powered, allowed are (butane, propane) powered stoves and barbecue grills. Please make sure u have a fire-extinguisher in the area.

We will place BBQs on the terrain for public use.

Food-safety regulations (HAACP) don't allow that. However, if it's non-commercially (so donations only) this does not apply.

Just like our previous events, drugs are not allowed (any kind, any amount).

=== Is it allowed to swim in the water on the terrain? ===
You can swim in the pond that has Chriet Titulaer island in it, and in the harbor or at the beach near Engelbart field. It's not allowed to swim in the other ponds, because they are part of the irrigation system for the terrain.

Be careful when swimming out of the harbor or the Engelbart beach: the Nuldernauw is very wide, very deep and very cold. There might be unexpected and strong currents and boats that probably won't see a swimmer (and even if they saw you, wouldn't be able to stop in time).

Pizza night/day for kids and their families; compile and bake your own pizza. Idea is that each participants helps to make the dough in the morning, and then assemble and bake the pizza at night. The oven can bake a pizza every 90 seconds, with some input/output delay and reheating of the stone you can bake a pizza every 2-3 minutes, resulting in a worst case 20 pizzas per hour. So depending on the amount of participants, there might be some patience involved to get everyone's pizza baked. We probably need some weighted fair queuing mechanism to let the kids eat first. Or first pizzas as 'generic' pizzas so everyone can have a slice.
