MCH2022 costs an incredible amount of money. We've made budgets ranging from 3000 visitors to 4000 and came to the prices listed in the shop. A ticket pays for the terrain, large tents, angel catering, insurance, facilities and so on and so on.

There are various tickets for MCH2022, from cost coverage to various supporter levels. In the shop you can also choose to rent village equipment such as tents, chairs and tables if you don't want to bring that yourself. You'll also find parking spots for cars and boats(!) and other optional items such as sleeping tents and t-shirts.

All tickets are listed in the ticket shop.

Where to buy tickets?

You can buy your tickets at the online ticket shop.

If you're a volunteer and tickets run out - don't worry, your team lead can probably get you a voucher which entitles you to buying a ticket.

When do I get my actual ticket?

There will be PDF tickets for download and use on the field, sent out before the event.

Why are there early down payments?

Vendors struggle due to the COVID pandemic. They had to incur several major blows in cancelled events which where not refunded, they had little to no turnover and had to let the majority of their workforce go (giving them a lot of uncertainty as well). Instead of late down payments, they ask for earlier ones. If the event does not comply, there will be on tents or other vital parts of the event! For more see this blog post.

Why don't you do 'save your ticket' / 'bewaar je ticket'?

This is a common construction for festivals in The Netherlands, you can read about it on "bewaarjeticket.nl" / "saveyourticket.nl". MCH has not decided yet if this is a viable option. Some of the major downsides is the low price for the ticket today, as well as price inflation over three years. This causes a (growing) mismatch between the current price and the costs of the event in 2025. It might set un realistic expectations for the future.

What if you have to cancel the event due to the COVID-19 situation?

If we need to cancel the event -again- due to the pandemic situation, we will refund your ticket partially. Our suppliers have been hit hard by the pandemic too, and are asking for non-refundable down payments. Therefore we have no choice but to make the ticket partially non-refundable too. The non-refundable part of the ticket is 50,- euros. You can find the details of this in our terms & conditions and in this blog post.

What if I want to cancel in other scenarios?

If the event is not cancelled but you can attend the event, for example because of travel restrictions or personal health concerns, you can exchange your ticket with others at the Ticket Exchange page.

In general we don't do cancellation of tickets, but if there are very special circumstances who are completely out of everybody's control you could try your luck at tickets@mch2022.org.

Why are the ticket prices higher than the last CCC camp?

When we were working on the budget, the intention was to have tickets at the same price or at a similar level. Unfortunately we are being faced with significant extra costs and uncertainty due to the COVID-19 situation.

Will there be gift cards for MCH2022?

There are no plans for gift cards for MCH2022.

What is an 'anonymous' donation?

The IFCAT foundation (the legal vehicle for the event) would like to keep the ticket price as low as possible. To that end we asking people that can afford it to give a small donation that we hope will contribute to this cause. Donations will also greatly help us in creating as much financial stability as we can early on and to pay for non-refundable down payments to our suppliers.

How can I pay?

We support the following payment methods:

  • Bank transfer (any SEPA country)
  • iDeal (Netherlands)
  • Giropay (Germany)
  • Bancontact (Belgium)
  • EPS (Austria)
  • Credit Card (Worldwide)

If you want to help us save on fees, please consider using SEPA bank transfers. But please select the payment method that is most comfortable for you to use.

Why no cryptocurrencies?

We do see some advantages of cryptocurrencies and technically we could offer them as a payment option. However we have decided not to enable them at this point due to the administrative complexity they introduce.

What if I want to stay anonymous?

We respect that some participants would like to stay anonymous. In this case we recommend you find someone you trust and have them buy the tickets for you, using an (anonymous) email address during the checkout process. This way it won't even be clear which tickets have been bought anonymously. If this does not work for you, contact Team:Info and we'll try to set something up.

In the future we would also like to encourage hackerspaces to distribute tickets for cash purchase. If your hackerspace wants to participate in this, please get in touch.

Who do I contact if I have any further questions regarding ticket sales or need support?

Please write an email to tickets@mch2022.org and we'll get back to you asap.

I ordered the wrong size $MerchItem!

As long as you just want to change the size of the product you've ordered, you can do so yourself. Follow the link to your order confirmation - at the bottom of the page you'll find an option to change your order.

In case you want to swap out an item for a different one, please contact us by mail.

What if I can't afford it right now?

No worries! We understand that a lot of people are in a tricky situation financially right now, for example due to a low income. Luckily, we don't expect tickets to sell out that fast.

In the worst case you can always contact friends@mch2022.org and we can work something out.

What if I don’t have the financial leeway to get a ticket at these prices?

As we have always done for our events, we can look at your personal situation. Feel free to [reach out|mail] in any way and we can look at the possibilities.

Does this mean a voucher system will not be needed for MCH2022?

For SHA2017, we did not use the voucher system. We currently have no intention of using it this time either.

Why are the break-even ticket prices lower than the MCH2021 tickets?

For 2021, there were large uncertainties. Although these uncertainties are not gone, the corresponding costs are easier to predict. Besides that, the finances were reevaluated, and balances for parking and camper tickets are more reflecting their real cost.

How many tickets will be available?

We are targeting a maximum of 2800 visitors.

Is it possible to come by car or camper? Or by boat?

Yes, however, you need a corresponding ticket. There are parking facilities near the field for cars, and a limited amount of camper spots on the terrain.

A ticket for parking a car is €42,-. Prices for camper spots are €80,- ,currently sold out, but there's a waiting list you can join. There is a limited amount of docking area in the harbour. Availability and prices will follow later.

Are there day tickets available?

Sorry, no. We can't offer day tickets because they come with a ton of overhead: we would have to check whether people with day tickets actually leave the terrain again. No one wants to do that job. Plus, we feel that there is a lot of value in fully being immersed in the event as a participant, not a passive spectator.
