Location and Date

The location will be outside between the Village:SwissVillage and the Village:Lemanicus.

Date will be Sunday, 24th at 17-19 local time (CEST) due to Monday having said to have a bit more rain.

Idea

Same idea as for every mechanical keyboard meetup: Bring your favourite or exotic mechanical keyboard(s) or other interesting input devices (trackballs, etc.), show them to other visitors and try out their devices. Experience exchange, trying out new things and having fun is the main purpose.

(For those not coming as a backpacker: Bringing more than one keyboard is explicitly encouraged as User:XTaran doesn't want to be the only idiot who brings half of his collection. ;-)

What to expect

Expect a lot of mechanical keyboards:

  • Colourful keyboards (BoW and WoB is allowed though, too. ;-)
  • Funny looking keyboards (All your keycaps are belong to us!)
  • Weird keyboards (Chorded keyboards? Non-standard stagger? Semiortholinear?)
  • "We are different" keyboards (Ortholinear? Columnar staggered?)
  • Sculpted keyboards (Dactyl-Manuform?)
  • Ergonomish keyboards (Alice? Reviung?)
  • Surprisingly compact but still kinda usable keyboards (Pain27? Alpha28? Shambles?)
  • Harmlessly looking but underestimated keyboards (Rama Works Kuro Stealth?)
  • Vintage and retro keyboards. (Model M? New Model F?)
  • As well as trackballs and other weird input devices. :-)

Expect discussing switches, lubing, key cap profiles, firmwares, microcontrollers and other keyboard nerd topics. :-)

Sanitary Measures

The plan is to make the session outdoor or under some tarp (like at the Belgian Soldering Workshop Bus at CCCamp 2019) to reduce the risk of infection. But so far we haven't a location or timeslot yet.

(We also recommend to bring your own hand disinfection fluids as we will probably provide some but surely can't guarantee that we provide enough.)

Wanted

  • Co-Organizer(s)
  • Someone who's printing keyboard label (and maybe keyboard trading) cards
